Andrew Williams, who I often work with on projects, has chanced across a vast post-industrial space at Pleasley Mills which is currently available. He has in mind some sound work, video/photo shoots that make use of the space, but is also aware it might be an incredible resource for others. He asked me whether I knew any artists looking for space for really large installations....
Apart from the space, the location is really interesting - Pleasley is as beat up old mining community as you get - most of the old miners cottages have been boarded up (and apparently are going to be brought back to life by ex-squaddies as a training scheme). It is an area of high unemployment, it is right on the edge of Derbyshire just a mile or so from Mansfield. It is genuinely post-industrial.
Nick - I am thinking about your interest in working in the underbelly of Derbyshire.
Let me know if this sounds at all interesting/worth investigating.

The Power of Hersey
Be careful of this guy - I've just seen what happened to the house opposite where he lives. Currently in an advanced state of rubble.
Was it a craft centre?
